Honhaar Scholarship Program 2025-26 | Registration Reopened

The Punjab Government has reopened the Honhaar Scholarship Portal for 2025-26, giving more students the chance to apply for financial support. The program was relaunched by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who highlighted its success and future goals. Expansion of Honhaar Scholarship Program

The program has already benefited 50,000 students in Punjab. With the reopening, another 30,000 scholarships will be awarded, bringing the total to 80,000 students. Students can apply in 67 modern fields, also known as “future-proof disciplines,” which focus on skills required in today’s job market such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Robotics, and more. Maryam Nawaz Sharif encouraged students to apply with confidence, promising that the government will continue investing in youth and education.

Phase 2 of Honhaar Scholarship Program

  • Annual scholarship: PKR 120,000 per student

  • Coverage: 68 academic fields across government & private universities, colleges, and medical institutions

  • Universities included: Punjab University, Government College University, UET, King Edward Medical University, and more

  • Launch date of Phase-II: December 4

  • Special quota: 1,660 female students and 637 minority students
    This makes Honhaar one of the largest scholarship programs in Pakistan.

Scholarships for Students of Other Provinces

Good news for students outside Punjab! The program has been extended to applicants from Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, AJK, and Gilgit Baltistan. They can also apply and benefit from the scheme.

Honhaar Scholarship Merit Lists

The Provisional Merit Lists have been updated for:

  • Public Sector Universities – 20,566 students selected

  • Private Universities – 4,820 students selected

  • Medical & Dental Colleges – 1,367 students selected

  • HED Colleges – 3,247 students selected
    Selected students must appear for interviews and final verification with documents and family income proof.

Eligibility Criteria for Honhaar Scholarship 2025

To apply, students must:

  • Have a Punjab domicile

  • Be under 22 years of age

  • Family monthly income less than 3 Lac.

  • Enrolled in selected programs/universities for Fall 2024 session

  • Minimum marks required:

    • Medical Colleges – 80%

    • Top Universities – 80%

    • Public Universities – 75% (Science), 70% (Arts)

    • HED Colleges – 65% (Science), 60% (Arts)

Scholarship Coverage

The Punjab Government will cover 100% tuition fees. Students will receive up to PKR 130,000 per year for a maximum of 8 years of study. The target is to expand the scheme to 4 million students in 4 years, with a long-term goal of 20 million scholarships.
